From “Puerto Plata Digital” newspaper:
PP City Council members to inspect Costambar.
The PP City Council will endeavor to directly mediate to find a solution to the impasse that separates the Costambar Junta de Vecinos (J de V) and those who lead the Association of Proprietors of Costambar (APC). The Councilmen approved a measure to conduct a public hearing in Costámbar to elucidate the problems facing the sector. The proposal to make the public hearing was made by the councilor PRD, Rosa Duncan (Rochi), who said that is of great importance that "we can resolve this ongoing conflict betweent APC and the J de V in Costambar" . Prior to this approval, the councilors, had left the the town hall session and only heard the president of the J de V, Gonzalo Bustos. The J de V claims the payment for the services of garbage collection and maintenance may only be collected by the city of Puerto Plata and not by ACP, but the latter is reluctant to accept this proposition the full City Council.
To this effect, the Councilmen intend to carry out an inspection visit to Costambar at 5:30 PM on Tuesday September 25th 2012 and then a town meeting.
Note: a site for this hearing was not announced.
