We were told by our landlord this morning that at least 10 people called yesterday (Sunday) looking for breakfast
so we have decided to open on Sundays from this week 8am till 1 pm
I know for some Sunday is the best day for you so hope to see you there Smile

Hi Luzcace
if we know that people want to come in on a Sunday then we will open, our plan was to open on Sunday in the winter time, at the moment we are just the 3 of us myself Ken and Mike, when we are open 7 days a week we will take on another member of staff, but if we know its what Costamber wants then sooner is good for us, so please let us know if its worth it we will do it, have you been in yet to have a look at us? please introduce yourself if you do.
I can tell you that its been more than we thought it would be at this time of year, so i would like to thank everybody who has helped ( too many to name ) and also all the people who have tried us, but a big thank you also to APC board members who have been a big help.

Not sure how many of you know what we hope to do in the Anchor, first we want to make a small living out of it, but in doing so we HOPE to help others
all tips are going to the School in Cofember and Blancos adopted children, we will make cash donations but first on the list is to have a Christmas party for them that is something they will remember for ever.
As soon as we tell people this the tips get bigger and at the moment the children are making a better living than us lol.

so please let us know and we will be glad to help

Sue

Thanks for your comments and support Raff. Mike and Elly, Myself and Sue would like to thank all our friends for the encouragement and help they have given us over the last couple of months. There were days when we wondered if we were doing the right thing but the response in the few days we have been open has convinced us that we have got the right formula. We are trying to offer something different. Our menu is simple but includes things that cannot be obtained anywhere else. I am producing home made bagels which I am assured are as good as Tim Hortons, and naturally Sue's famous quiche is proving popular. All our menu items are home made including cookies, doughnuts and muffins and we are experimenting with new items daily. Today I created a mango frozen yoghurt from locally produced ingredients which means it has no additives and is sickenly healthy. We do not just serve coffee and tea but a whole range of specialist teas and our own blend of coffee, Hot chocolate with marshmallows, iced tea and coffee, liquer coffee and of course the full range of soft drinks, beer and cocktails. Our breakfast speciality, apart from the bagel, is eggs benedict but if you want bacon and eggs we will do it. All our menu items are available througout the day. Our motto is ' the place you come to feel at home' and we hope we have created comfortable surroundings. All the furniture is locally made bamboo and we do not have any plastic furniture. Raf Belliard kindly lent us some of his paintings which can be purchased and Liz Craick is making shell mobiles which are also for sale. We provide a small library and a selection of games. We have free wireless internet access for those with laptops and we do not require any purchase to be made to use these facilities. We have decided that all gratuities will be equally divided between Blanco's orphanage and the local school in Cofembar and we plan to throw a christmas party for them. We are open at 8 am Monday to Saturday and plan to close between 6 and 7pm. However, we will host parties in the evening if we are given prior notice and can also cater for small meetings, discussion groups, art classes etc. We have decided to close on Sunday during the summer but if there is enough interest we will open for Breakfast. Please let us know.
Once again thanks for all the support and I hope we meet your expectations. If you come to us and are not happy please tell us and if you have any suggestions for fund raising events or menu items please bring them to us.

Congratulations to Brit expats and full-time residents Sue and Ken Fisher, who just opened a new establishment in Costambar:
The Anchor Tea and Coffee Garden stands close to the Gym Bar, at the end of Calle Cadiz (if I am correct), with its intersection with Calle Almirante.
Perhaps Sue and Ken would want to tell us more about their new place.
Congratulations and best wishes !! Costambar needed something like that.
